Baccara Made in Spain

I am a fun of Baccara. My collection includes almost all their CD's.
Actually I have been ordered two new released CD's of Baccara: "Baccara 2000" - released sept.1999-BMG and "Made in Spain" - released aug.1999-CNR Spain including Maria and Marissa.
Around middle of October they have arrived. I have to inform you about tracklists and my opinion about it (if you request it).
I also want to contact the persons who collect music with of this duo. Tell me, please if I can find a solution to complete my collection with some video music of Baccara or similar (concerts, TV a.o).

Majic Music in the UK are reeasing four brand-new mixes of "Wind Beneath My Wing" on a maxi-CD-single in early June '99. The song first featured way back in 1993 on Loading Bay Records. The new faster Euro-style mixes span a moody "club" mix, a luscious strings mix, a more Italo-NRG-style-mix, and a retro mix... reminiscent of "Fantasuy Boy" and "Touch Me".
No details as yet, but UK distribution is by Clubscene. Retailers and collectors should contact them direct.
Deals are being sought outside the UK with distributors and licencees. Interested parties please contact Majic Music.

I send you some great news: both Maria (with Marisa "New Baccara") and Mayte (not anymore with Jane but now again with Sole) are working on a new cd !!!
The cd of Maria and Marisa ("New Baccara") would be probably into Spanish, Mayte and Sole will also record some new song but also some old Baccara songs.
Hope you like this great news and I hope you will update this greay Baccara homepage soon. Do You have some news ???

...BACCARA? Die rothaarige Spanierin Maria Mendiola und ihre Freundin Mayte Matheos landeten mit "Yes Sir, I Can Boogie" 1977 einen Welterfolg

STERN: Wieso sprechen Sie so gut Deutsch?
MENDIOLA: Meine damalige Partnerin und ich sind oft in Deutschland aufgetreten. Aber mittlerweile vergesse ich viele Vokabeln. Ich bin einfach nicht mehr genug unterwegs.

STERN: Aber Sie treten doch immer noch als "Baccara" auf...
MENDIOLA: ... ja, aber nur noch vier- oder fünfmal im Monat. Meine neue Partnerin hat ein Baby, da geht es nicht häufiger. Außerdem sind wir beide sehr familiär.

STERN: Was ist aus Ihrer Partnerin der ersten Stunde geworden - der Frau in Weiß?
MENDIOLA: Mayte wollte damals um jeden Preis eine Solo-Karriere machen. Und als der Plattenvertrag 1981 auslief, hat sie "Baccara" verlassen. Die Trennung war für mich sehr schmerzhaft. Ich war wirklich sehr traurig, sie war meine beste Freundin.

STERN: Haben Sie denn noch Kontakt zu ihr?
MENDIOLA: Nein, ich habe sie seit 1982 nicht mehr gesehen. Ich habe keine Ahnung, was sie jetzt macht.

STERN: Gab es bei Ihnen je Streit darum, wer in Weiß und wer in Schwarz rumläuft?
MENDIOLA: Darüber gab es keine Diskussion. Unser Manager hat das einfach so festgelegt.

STERN: Treten Sie immer noch so auf?
MENDIOLA: Das werden wir auch in Zukunft tun, das ist eben "Baccara", so kennt man uns.

STERN: Es ist aber ziemlich still um Sie geworden.
MENDIOLA: Wir haben lange keine Schallplatte mehr gemacht. Aber Ende des Jahres wollen wir es wieder versuchen und ein neues Album aufnehmen. Die Richtung wird so bleiben, aber wie die Lieder konkret klingen werden, weiß ich noch nicht. Daran wird gerade im Studio gebastelt - ohne uns.

STERN: Müssen Sie immer noch die alten Kamellen singen?
MENDIOLA: Seit 21 Jahren singe ich nun schon "Yes Sir, I Can Boogie". Irgendwie ist mir das auch unheimlich. Aber das Publikum will es nun mal hören. Der Titel war ja nicht nur in Deutschland Nummer eins, sondern sogar in Japan und Australien.
