Hey,
I used to be a huge Baccara fan in the late 70's/early
80's when I lived in Germany and used to collect every
article, album, song etc. I could find. I have lived in
the USA for many years now and almost forgot about the
ladies until I found a used CD in a store last year and
it brought back many great memories. Just for fun I typed
in their name and found your website. Great job and it
brings me back to being 14 years old. I was wondering
since you seem to have a lot of information if you also
have access to video tapes of vintage Baccara, when Maria
and Mayte were still performing together. I would LOVE
to buy a copy. I have e-mailed a couple of the people
on your site who talked about video tapes, but did not
get a response. So I figured I would ask you. Especially
the years 1977, 78, 79, 80 interest me but anything would
be great.
Could you please let me know. And keep up the great work!

Hi,
I found your site on Baccara and had to email you! I absolutely
love Baccara and Maytes solo records.
I have had trouble finding fans who spoke English until
I saw your site.
In "Yahoo! Clubs I started one for Baccara fans called
YES SIR,WE LOVE BACCARA. Unfortunately most people who
saw it could not speak English, but it has had about 400
views...so Baccara fans still exist!
I had a few things I wanted to find out about.
I don't have the Bad Boys lp,but have the Russian Baccara
Collection cd. It features 8 tracks from that album. How
many tracks are on the whole LP?
Is there an album containing "I do,I do" from Mayte. I
just have that single plus Roses and wine.
Is "Devil sent.." and "Sleepy time toy" the only non lp
singles..or are there others.
I hope to hear from you because I really need to discuss
Baccara with another big fan.

Mayte is the voice of Baccara. She is a special and very
friendly person. She is working very much with Cristina
as Baccara. Cristina is also a very nice woman in vision
and in her heart.

Hi Roman,
I´m a big Baccara-fan and quite often check out your homepage
for news - you´re doing a fine job there!!!
This is just to inform you about a live-gig that Baccara
are going to do in my hometown Münster (Germany) on Saturday,
August 4th. They´re going to perform at the "Hammerstraßenfest",
which is a local party that takes place here every year,
usually with one interesting highlight - this year Baccara
(as far as I know, it´s going to be Maria and Marisa).
Unfortunately, and as you can imagine, very, very much
to my regret, I won´t be here myself, as I had already
booked a holiday in Spain (!) for exactly that time (strange
and absurd somehow, but that´s life...). Anyway, I have
asked some of my friends to take pictures and to report
to me every detail of the performance when I´m back.
Maybe you want to include this information on your homepage,
so that fans from around this area are well-informed and
can enjoy the live-gig.

Hi Roman!
Congratulations for your superb work on Baccara Page.
I´m fan number 1 from Spain. Mad about these 2 (should
I say 3,4,5,6?) girls.
I´ve got almost all their records and much taped material.
The two original girls were Mayte Mateos and Maria Mendiola,
not Mendiolo, nor Matee or anything like that.
I have many information on Baccara troughout the years.
It is difficult to find CDs in Spain (!), specially with
Mayte on the duo. Maria and Marisa are more widely Known.
There is so much information I´d like to write about Baccara
I don´t know where to start. Maria and Mayte met on Spanish
TV as dancers. They become friends and there was only
one TV on Spain at that time (TV1). Franco was still alive.
The idea of performing together was Maria´s. They spent
all the money they had on making dresses (not black an
white yet, rather glittering) and danced sinchronysed
imitating the Keller twin sisters from Germany, if yoy
can recall.
But I won´t go on boring you with the story we all know.
I´d rather give some interesting and rare information.
For example, single from "Colours" with A side "Body Talk",
B side "By 1999", was also released in Spanish. The title
songs were "Baila tu" and "En el año 2000".
"The devil sent to to Laredo" was also released in Spanish
as "El diablo te mandó a Laredo". Side B was "Somewhere
in Paradise" as well. By the way, "Baila tú" single cover
was the one pirated for "Baccara Rare
Songs" I see on your page. That´s a pirate CD indeed.
I can´t go on right now, but I pronmise to keep up with
details.

I've read your discography and you don't seem to mention
the Maria album 'Made in Spain' from 1999. Someone does

Please let me introduce myself: my name is Peter Goessens
(27) and I am a music lover from Belgium, the small 'chocolate'
country in Europe. My wife and I are both great admirers
of music festivals and, in particular, of the Eurovision
Song Contest.
While visiting the Yamaha website several months ago,
we came across some webpages devoted to the World Popular
Song Festival, an annual music event held from 1970 until
1989 under the guidance of the Yamaha Music Foundation
and involving artists from all over the world. Given the
number of well-known artists having participated in this
contest, my wife and I have starting searching the internet
for more information and have become highly fascinated
by this cosmopolitan festival.
I've noticed on your website that you are a great fan
of Baccara. As you will know, Baccara did not only participate
in the Eurovision Song Contest (1978), but they also participated
in the 8th edition of the Yamaha World Popular Song Festival
(Tokyo - November 1977), representing then West-Germany
with the song "Mad in Madrid", written by Frank Dostal
and Rolf Soja.
In your Baccara Discography list, it is mentioned that
"Mad in Madrid" was released as B-side to the single "Darling".
Do you know if this single is still available today or
if the song "Mad in Madrid" is also available on LP or
CD? I would very much like to find this song as it would
give me the opportunity to add it to my (modest) collection
of WPSF songs. Or if the song "Mad in Madrid" is part
of your own personal Baccara collection, would it be possible
for me to send you an audiocassette on which you could
record the song? Of course, I will pay in advance for
any costs you have (taping, P&P,...). Just let me know!
It would be so great if I could actually add the song

I'm glad to have found another Baccara fan on the net!
I have been a fan of Baccara in over ten years time. My
parents liked Baccara and I just had to grab their old
vinyls and transfer them into my own collection. It's
hard to get hold of Baccara stuff and if I tend to find
anything the price is often too high. Half of my collection
I have bought abroad. If you want to learn about more

That's hard! The years as New Baccara is the most difficult
period. The albums "Born again", "Best" and "Bad Boys"
on your home page I have never even heard about! The singles
"Eins Ist Eins Ist Eins" and "Higher And Higher" also
interest me alot! Do you know anything about them?
A friend of mine has a 12" single of Yes Sir, I Can Boogie
from 1990. If I recall right, it has 4 remixes. It's a
couple of years since I heard them.
